This is how we spent our evacuation...

We went to an awesome park everyday to play. 

I had to do something to keep them 

from driving me nuts!!  

The kids were wild without their toys from home. 

We are so glad to be settled & calm at home now.

School started back today for all of us...Yea!

Boo, Hiss & Spit!

So it has been an exciting couple of days thanks to Ike!  So Boo, Hiss, and Spit Ike!....First we evacuated to Woodville.  We lost power around 6am Saturday when the storm got bad and it lasted all day.  Tim and I drove back down to Port Neches after the storm to assess the damage.  We were very lucky.  We lost our brand new fence that Tim worked so hard to put up by himself, we lost shingles, and have a small leak in the living room. Soo blessed.  My Mom and sister weren't so lucky....their houses were under water.  But feel like everything is going to work out and be okay.  I hope everyone else is safe and doesn't have too much damage to their houses. I miss everyone and will be thinking of y'all! 

So anyways, after we returned to Woodville, the heat wasn't too bad at first, but we finally decided to evacuate to my aunt's in Dallas on Sunday.  When we started our trip, I had 140 miles until empty in my car and thought that would be plenty to get us to a gas station down the road to fill up....well no matter how far I drove, no one had power or gas. There was no power or gas all the way through Huntsville.  When I got to Centerville, still no gas for 30 miles a State Trooper told me.  Unfortunately, there was only 10 miles til empty in my tank.  So I pulled over into an abandoned parking lot to wait for Tim to drive 2 1/2 hrs. to bring us some gas.  But we were sent a tattoo-covered Angel in a big black truck  who gave us 5 gallons of gas to get us to the next Gas Station.  He even followed us to make sure we made it.  I don't know why he chose our car over all the other stranded cars around us, but I'm so grateful.  He wouldn't even let us pay him.  So thank you to whoever you are. We are so blessed.

Marci Started Kindergarten

I can't believe Marci is in Kindergarten!  

She did so good and just loves school.

I went to eat lunch with her 

in case she didn't know where to go.

Shortly after I took this pic, 

Marci threw her lunch up in her tray!

Much like me, her nerves got the best of her.  

I was up all night puking my first time back to 

school in January.  She was fine after that though.

Bradley is in 3rd Grade.  He's the big man on 

campus now.  He walks Marci to her class everyday.

Maddox misses them while they are at school.  

You'd think with only one at home now that 

I would have a lot of extra time.  I have never 

been busier though.  I don't even have

 time to work anymore =(

I guess she had a good day at school.  

She passed out right after she got home.

Let's Start Out the New School Year Right...

Abby Does Dallas

Tim had his interview at Baylor College of Dentistry

 on Friday.  We got to Dallas at 10pm Thursday 

night and we left at 3pm the next day,

 so it was a short trip and we are

 exhausted still. I had to read pages and pages of

 dental stuff to Tim to prep him for his interview

 the whole way to Dallas.

 So that made for a LONG 5 hours...

It was so late and we got lost trying to find a place 

to eat so we got room service.......Let me just say... 

we paid $5.00 for a 50 cent can of Dr. Pepper, 

not to mention the rest of the dinner!!! 

 Wow...it was good, but expensive!

Here's the view of Dallas from the Dental School.

We loved this school!  Everyone was so nice and 

we felt right at home.  We had a financial aid seminar, 

took a tour of the entire school, and

 they took us to lunch at their awesome cafeteria.

 They had a Chic-fil-a in it! 

Even after they told us how much it was going 

to cost, I was sold.  Tim's interviews went so good,

 they were just really nice people. 

 I have nothing negative to say about anything.  

He has his San Antonio interview in 2 weeks

 so I hope it goes as great as this one.
