Waiting game

So, Tim had his 3rd and final Dental School interview...he only applied to the 3 Texas schools so it's exciting to have heard from all of them. This time it was UT-Houston. He got the Interview invite the day we evacuated for Ike, so it couldn't have come at a crazier time.  But fortunately Ike didn't stop us from being able to go.  

We both loved the Asst. Dean and really liked everything they had to say about the school.  Like Baylor, they were very family friendly and understood the importance of home-life. The interview part couldn't have gone any better.  I'm just really proud of him and the fact that the people at the schools have said how impressed with him they are, just makes me wanna say...Yeah, that's my husband!

 It will still be a hard decision to make if he gets accepted to both Houston & Dallas.  But I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.  Now it's just the waiting game to see if any Acceptance letters come...at the earliest that will be Dec. 1....so until then I'm holding my breath.

School started back today for all of us...Yea!

Boo, Hiss & Spit!

So it has been an exciting couple of days thanks to Ike!  So Boo, Hiss, and Spit Ike!....First we evacuated to Woodville.  We lost power around 6am Saturday when the storm got bad and it lasted all day.  Tim and I drove back down to Port Neches after the storm to assess the damage.  We were very lucky.  We lost our brand new fence that Tim worked so hard to put up by himself, we lost shingles, and have a small leak in the living room. Soo blessed.  My Mom and sister weren't so lucky....their houses were under water.  But feel like everything is going to work out and be okay.  I hope everyone else is safe and doesn't have too much damage to their houses. I miss everyone and will be thinking of y'all! 

So anyways, after we returned to Woodville, the heat wasn't too bad at first, but we finally decided to evacuate to my aunt's in Dallas on Sunday.  When we started our trip, I had 140 miles until empty in my car and thought that would be plenty to get us to a gas station down the road to fill up....well no matter how far I drove, no one had power or gas. There was no power or gas all the way through Huntsville.  When I got to Centerville, still no gas for 30 miles a State Trooper told me.  Unfortunately, there was only 10 miles til empty in my tank.  So I pulled over into an abandoned parking lot to wait for Tim to drive 2 1/2 hrs. to bring us some gas.  But we were sent a tattoo-covered Angel in a big black truck  who gave us 5 gallons of gas to get us to the next Gas Station.  He even followed us to make sure we made it.  I don't know why he chose our car over all the other stranded cars around us, but I'm so grateful.  He wouldn't even let us pay him.  So thank you to whoever you are. We are so blessed.

Marci Started Kindergarten

I can't believe Marci is in Kindergarten!  

She did so good and just loves school.

in case she didn't know where to go.

Much like me, her nerves got the best of her.  

I was up all night puking my first time back to 

school in January.  She was fine after that though.

Bradley is in 3rd Grade.  He's the big man on 

campus now.  He walks Marci to her class everyday.

Maddox misses them while they are at school.  

You'd think with only one at home now that 

I would have a lot of extra time.  I have never 

been busier though.  I don't even have

 time to work anymore =(

I guess she had a good day at school.
