Life: It's Happening.

And not only is it happening, it's happening too fast!
This summer came and went and I didn't even
get to do all the things I wanted......like organize the
closets....ha.  Maybe I'll get to that while
the kids are in school...
My computer was broken all summer,
so my computer time was limited and
I didn't get to blog at all, nor did I get to read
anyone else's blogs!
But I fixed it the other day...BY. MY. SELF.
and I feel very accomplished..so suck it
Apple store and Geek squad! ;)

And now a rundown of the highlights....

I don't usually look at Bradley and think he looks like me,
but in this pic, I totally see it.
Bradley and I went to a
Mother-Son Chick-Fil-A Date "Knight".  It
was really cute and we had a good time.
I was pleasantly surprised that Bradley
wanted to go when I mentioned it to
him.  I was all prepared for him to
think it was dumb, but I guess he still
likes me and isn't embarrassed by me yet!

1 year old
My little turkey just keeps growing up!
I seriously love him more and more every day.
He is so cute and sweet I can't help but wanna
squeeze him all day!

Miles and his friend Krew are 5 days apart.
The are both little bitties, so they make a good pair.
Miles likes to rub Krew's hair.

I made a quilt for my sister's 1st baby.  After
the stressful and lengthy time it took to
make Miles' quilt, I swore I'd never
make another quilt.  But I did and thankfully
this one was so easy!
I really loved how it came out!

Maddox did Tball again this year.  He is so cute out there!
He LOVES baseball.

Bradley had a band concert.  It's fun to watch him play
and remember my times in band.

Tim's parents came out to watch Bradley's Band Concert

We did a LOT of swimming this year!
I was training most of the summer, so I did
most of my workouts in the pool, if possible!
I couldn't bear to exercise in the heat.

Maddox improved so much.  He went from
being pretty scared, to swimming and diving in
the deep end, no problem!

Marci loves to do handstands and backflips, just
like I always did at her age.

Tim was the designated Baby Taxi.  Miles
would hang on his neck while Tim swam around.

Our old neighbor, Kalem, spent a good chunk of
the summer at our house.  He really has become
just like one of my kids.
They all love having him over...even Marci. ;)
It's so funny how much he looks like them.

I was so excited when my sis Amanda had her baby!
We waited a LONG time for her to get around to it!
Baby Bennett and Miles are almost exactly 1 year apart.

Marci was originally NOT happy that Manda was having a
boy!  But she came around once he was here!

Miles has all of a sudden been putting on hats.
This one is his little "cabin boy hat".  Makes me think of one
of Captain Hook's guys on Peter Pan.

More to come...I'm way behind.

Family pics 2012

My friend Cate did a quick photo shoot with
our family a couple weeks ago.
It was a super crazy day and I didn't even have
time to fix my hair & I put
my make up on in the car, so I really didn't expect
to get any good pics!
Thank goodness Cate is a genius, because
they came out great!
I hated that Miles was in a bad mood so
we didn't really get any pics of his
super cute smile.
As per usual, Tim didn't smile...darn it!

My boys!

The contrast between my expression & Tim's cracks me up!

Blue blue eyes!

Working Girl

Fun fact about me- I'm a total 80's movie/song buff.
So I've been cracking myself up, thinking about
"Working Girl".  And also the other
type of working girl....hahaha.
I have been feeling a lot like Melanie Griffth
(minus the gravity-defying hair)
since I started working again and having to dress up.

That's right....this stay at home Mom,
now has a J-O-B.
It's been almost 4 years since I quit
my little part time job and have been
exclusively at home.

When we moved to Houston for Dental School,
I didn't really need to work since the student loans
were enough to pay our living expenses, but
tuition keeps going up and up every semester, and the
loan amount just stayed the same, sooo time to
get workin to make up the difference.
I have been really blessed to not have to work for
the first 3 years of school, and now we're down
to last year of school left, so it's only temporary.
Tim literally has only
12 months left!  It's craaazy how close we are
and I can't wait to be done!
It will be even better when I'm done with school too,
which isn't that far off either!

So about the job-
It's at Saks 5th Ave at the big Houston Outlets which
are conveniently 2 min. from my house.
So I won't be able to use the "stuck in traffic"
excuse if I'm late!
I mainly work in the fine jewelry, so I
get too oogle diamonds all day.
All the people I work with are so so nice!
I have made a point to not even look at
the clothes or shoes,
so as to not get tempted to spend my whole
paycheck there.  And darn it, if there
aren't some Ah-maz-ing deals on everything!
I had to help out with all the fabulous handbags yesterday...
Oh how I love the smell of leather handbags...
especially at 50% off. ;)
Self-control. Self-control. Self-control.
That is my mantra while at work.

Fortunately I only work evenings and weekends,
so the kids just stay home with Daddy when I work.

I will have to splurge on some good shoes
for my tired feet though....
I'm thinking I need some
Cole Haan's with the air soles...it's a must!

Oh and need I mention....
I get a 30% employee discount!
Even on sale and clearance stuff!
I may never want to quit,
just for the discount alone!!

Miles Smiles

I smile about a thousand times a day, due to
this little monkey of mine.
He's just SO cute and SO sweet and SO good
(most of the time)!
I don't think I ever loved the baby stage
as much as I do this time around.
Now, oogle these pics and
ignore my rambling
mushiness......
How much longer can I blame it on the hormones??
Haha ;)

Dis my baby "BillyBob"
Miles loves wearing all these
different sets of fake teeth we have.
We think it's hilarious!

So GQ in his church duds

I do a little photo shoot with him each month
and spend some time learning how to edit
the pics in photoshop..I think I'm finally staring
to get the hang of it.  Photoshop is complicated!

I think this books shoot is my fav!

Hello blue eyes!

I had some fun with my lil' Valentine

His teeth came in really weird...well at least
not in the order they are "supposed" to come in,
according to our resident Dentist...
We laughed at
his crazy snaggle-tooth grin.

I just LOVE his new teethy smile!
It makes me smile every time I see it!

Look at that mischievous smile!
Miles' new trick is to climb up the
stairs quick as lightning!

Once at the top, he is SO proud of himself!

He then proceeds to play with all of the kids' toys,
since they aren't home to stop him!
Shhhh, don't tell them!

He's been walking a lot over the past week. He's not quite
a full walker yet, but close!
He also said his very first real word today: Stop!
This is probably due to the fact that what he
hears multiple times a day includes:
Stop climbing those stairs!  Stop biting me! Stop eating that, yuk!
Stop dumping out those clothes I just folded! Stop! Stop! Stop!
SO either it's that or the fact that he has 2 brothers and a sister
constantly holding him or messing with him.
So he might be saying it out
of self-defense!
Either way, it's pretty funny that's the very 1st thing
he uttered in his life!  Makes me wonder what's to come
and what his little personality is going to develop into.

Zoo, Burgers, and Butterflies

Tim finally got a little break from
school over the Holidays so
we went on a few outings.
We met up at the Zoo
with our friends
Daniel, Sabrina, & Holly
and their Kids.

Bight blue-eyed baby Miles

Maddox

Marci

Me & Marci

Maddox with his BFF, Kolby, rocking his cool shades.

Silly kids

I thought we were gonna
get kicked out of the zoo.
Tim taunted all the animals,
imagine that!!
Monkey trying to hide from Tim

Just monkeying around...

We caught a Private moment with the elephant...
so of course I took pictures of it.  Hahaha

We were missing Bradley, who was at Scout Camp w/ Grandpa

Later we went with Daniel & Sabrina
to this quirky outdoor restaurant,
"The Shack" to eat the
biggest heart attack burgers, ever.
They have a burger with
honey buns as the buns and
fries topped with
Cheese and BRISKET!
And also some seriously
good fried pickles.
Here's Tim with his burger that has
2 grilled cheese sandwiches for
the buns!  Holy Heartburn!

Me & Sabrina

Thanks to Groupon, we went to
the Butterfly Museum for a
whopping $14 for the whole family!

My manly man carried the baby around in a sling

Me & Marci
Family Challenge: Eat these Worms!

Maddox- spit them out

Marci- spit them out

Bradley- spit them out

Surprisingly I won!  They had no taste, just crunchy.
